Sound in slides in Open Office 2.4

Asked by Daniel

I want sound not at the end of the slide but rather in it. I'm preparing a presentation for children to practise the alphabet. After trying to read the letters, I want them to hear the correct version. I was successful in my first version but now I'm not.

I'm using Open Office in Ubuntu 8.04.

I tried to follow the directions provided by nalinib. Funnily enough Open Office is crushing all the time when I click the final OK!

At work, I tried the same procedure with Open Office 3 in Windows. It seems to work perfectly well.

I think I have solved the problem. It depends on where the audio files are put on the hard disk! Now I put them in the home folder and the impress files on the desktop. If I remove the audio files some where else, I won't hear a thing.

Just to explain why the problem was created: As I have created partitions on my hard disk, I don't put my personal files in the home folder as a rule. In case I need to re-install or something happens to the OS, i have my files in a safe place.
