Setting Default File Save format

Asked by Roscoetuff

Want the default file save format to conform to the world I work in: MS Word. This means, I'd like the program to save WP files
by default as .doc rather than as .odt. Didn't see an easy way to do this.... or a selection on the menu that offers this.
As a newby to both Linux and OpenOffice, I would really appreciate a short-cut for this. Or even to know simply that this can't be done.

Thanks!

Hello,
open openoffice.org and go into Struments menù and then select "options"
In the new window go to Load/Save and then into "general" tab.
Here there's an option called "save always as". Here you chose the default file format and then apply changes.

The names of the menus may change because I'm italian so I use the italian version of openoffice.org but probably they are right.

A little correction. The menù isn't struments but "tools".
Excuse me for the mistake.
