How to work with source code

Asked by Konstantin Lavrov

I have decided to compile openoffice.org from source. In fact I need some additional hacks that russian maintainer (rail at openoffice.org) did for better work with cyrillic docs.
So I get source:
$ apt-get source openoffice.org
And it was version 2.2.0-0ubuntu2
But today new version available https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openoffice.org/2.2.0-1ubuntu2
How can I get up-to-day changes without downloading new ..diff.gz ?
I guess i need only some files that changes.

Thanks

If you want the changes in source that you can recompile, you can just do an

apt-get source openoffice.org

again.

If you want to update all the other packages except of openoffice, use the update_manager. There you can idividually select which packages to update.

Can you help with this problem?
