Update 2.02 to 2.2

Hi,
I am failrly new to LINUX but I am becoming a fan. Every once ina while I hit a situation that tries my patinece and this is one of them. I have version 2,02 on my original distribution and I oticed the updtae to 2.2 and it looks good.

My problem is that after I downloaded the new program I couldn't figure how or where to install it. Like I said I am new to this.

Can someone help me?

could you tell how you first installed openoffice? from source or using the synaptic packet manager?

Hi Ali,
This was on my original Ubuntu disk I got from , I think, PC World. I want
to install it into the same directories to avoid duplication. Is there a way
to just upgrade the existing program?

HI Ali,
I should have mentioned that it is Open Office suite that I am trying to upgrade. I just noticed an upgrade to 2.2 avaialble.

Openoffice 2.2. will be part of the new ubuntu release feisty fawn that will be published this month.

Thanks for the answer. I will delete the files I downloaded and await the
new release of "feisty fawn".
