I found a way to do it with a quick button on the toolbar "sort ascending" but it sorted that column and left all the others unaltered. But I need the rows to stay together. So what i want is to alph. a column and have all the sheet move around together

You can select multiple columns by holding down Shift. First click on the column that you want to use for sorting, then hold Shift and click on the other columns that should be updated as well. Then click the button on the toolbar to sort them. It'll sort using the first column and it'll keep the rows together.
