OO writer doesn't show pictures
When I open a document in OO writer which has pictures in it, i don't see the pictures, only the outlines. Writer does see they are pictures, but is not showing them. When I open print preview I do see the pictures.
Also when I insert a picture into a document myself I only see the outline.
How can i make the pictures vissible?
I'm new to Ubuntu and OO, so I don't know so much about it, I hope anyone can help me with this!
thanks,
MJB

Go to Tools > Options >OpenOffice.org Writer > View.
Is Display > Graphics & Objects checked?
Let us know if this solves your problem.

Open Openoffice and please check from menu Tools->Options-> Openoffice writer -> View : Show images and ojects, must be checked

wow, that's really easy!
thank you very much!
MJB
Then to get better fonts visualization:
Please install msttcorefonts
Using System-
Then open a Terminal from the menu Applications-
sudo aptitude update
sudo aptitude install cabextract
sudo aptitude install msttcorefonts
give your user password when requested, you don't see nothing when you type it, then press enter.
Always useful is the online Ubuntu doc https:/
Hope this helps

Thank you for this aditional information!
I did install the fonts exactly the way you wrote, but in OO Writer I don't see a difference.
Is there something else in Writer I need to change before being able to use the new fonts?
thanks
MJB
The msttcorefonts are only supplemental basic ms true type fonts.
Not regarding as i wrong wrote "font visualization" but concerning the correct page rendering on OpenOffice when you open some .doc files that was wrote using the standard core fonts coming with Windows.
