I am looking for a resume template but i am not sure where to look.

It seems templates don't come by default in your OO installation.

Try this:
go to http://documentation.openoffice.org/Samples_Templates/User/template/index.html

You will find there lots of templates, at least one of them is a CV template (Name: CV Template and/or Resume). You can download them to your machine and use it.
Please, pay attention to the page summary: the files must be place at %OpenOffice.org%/user/template directory.
