Is it possible to record a macro that draws a plot?

Need to make a scatter plot with more than one curve. Would like to put together a macro.

I start the macro recorder, select the data, then go through the steps to create the plot, then stop the recorder. Then when I try it out, it doesn't save me any steps. It forces me to go through the whole chart wizard procedure.

What does one do in order to have a macro create a chart?

I can only record the same as you - the macro just calls the chart wizard. As this is not just an Ubuntu problem, can I suggest you go to the OOo forum for Macros
