chinese charcater

in windows program we can type chinese character then on top we can put pinyin assigned by the word format how can we do it in oppen office.

Are all the necessary languages and fonts installed in your system? Also try to install language packs for OpenOffice. Use "Language Support" and "Synaptic" to achieve this in your system.

Yes I do have the language support and synaptic on my system. Probably I
just don't how to do it in open office. Do you have nay Idea? Thanks a

Hi,
Please check whether chinese language is suported on your system.
Goto:
System > Administrator > Language Support
and check whether the chinese language is checked.
If not, check it. A system-password will be asked and the language support is installed.
