how to change default from footnote to endnote

From the menubar:
Tools > Footnotes: Position: End of document should work. However, i tested this, but id did not work. Maybe a bug? I am investigating this

Sorry that I have to reply be email, but launchpad wouldn't let me log in.

I think this issue should remain open for two reasons.
1. You yourself say that your proposed solution does not work
2. Your proposal to set it up so that footnotes all go to the end of
document has two drawbacks:
    - it blurs or eliminates the distinction between footnotes and endnotes
    - it won't work for those who want both footnotes and endnotes

Thanks - dynamically switching the default would certainly improve the situation for most users.
I suppose the use of keyboard shortcuts or toobar icons would be neater for a user who inserts a lot of both footnotes and endnotes.
