Asked by schmemily11

Even though printer and word processor are given correct size of paper, it prints out 1/4 smaller than the size of the page.

That could be a lot of different things.

One that I would check first, is if you have reduced the print-ratio in the printer-settings, i.e. 75% instead of 100%

It could also have something to do with the margins you have set.

Also, what version of Ubuntu are you using? What printer? What driver?

ubuntu version: 6.1
printer: Canon PIXMA MP500
driver: not sure.

I have checked the print margins - they are correct.
Also, the print ratio is set at 100%.
How can I make my changes be the default print options? Everytime I go to
print I have to choose what I want again.

thank you for any help you can offer!!

you can hit the save button after changing them. But that might only change the defaults for the particular application. if you want to change them system-wide you need to click on the system-setting button at the bottom of the print widget

To know which driver you are using at this moment please provide the output of the following command from a terminal:
$ grep '*NickName' /etc/cups/ppd/*.ppd

I am having problems setting the paper size on my documents under openoffice 2.3 or 2.4 (spreadsheet). I wanted to print over 35cmx27.5cm continues form, i went to Format->Page on the menu an set the page format to user with the said size, i also change the printer properties over menu File->Printer Settings . . . I tried all of the paper size but the print is cut-off just over 27cm of the width.

The print preview works just fine.

Is there any set-ups that i'd might missed?

or is this because I am using Epson LX-1050 driver to my Epson FX-2175? if so, can anyone help me find a printer driver for my Epson FX-2175?

thanks.
