I can't seem to update openoffice 2.4.0 to 2.4.1

On the help menu on openoffice, there is no button allowing me to update the software. It says I need administrator rights in the help fies, but as far as I'm aware I am the administrator.

programs/packages are not updated using internal update mechanisms with ubuntu but using the central update manager. it'll inform you as soon as you can install the update which is usually a little later than it is origninally published by the application developers.
