Save option for un-edited document

Asked by Brian

Trivial question:
In previous Open Office versions, the File|save option was greyed out until changes were made to the document. Not important, but a nice touch.
This seems not to be present in OO2.4.
Is there a configuration option that can be applied to revert to the previous behaviour?

Look along the bottom edge of the window (with the document statistics etc.). You should see a small box with an asterisk in it, unless you just saved. If there's an asterisk in it, the save button would have been active. If not, the save button would have been grayed. I can't see an option in Tools->Options...; I might have missed it but I didn't find any option; perhaps there was a bug in its operation?

Can you help with this problem?
