Can't get help in OpenOffice even after reinstalling help files.

Asked by DaveinSpain

I have tried installing the Openoffice.org-help-en-gb file (for 2.3 Ubuntu) through Synaptic Package Manager. It reports it as downloaded, then installed but when I try to use help I still get the message that the help files are not installed. I have tried restarting OpenOffice, X and the machine with no difference. Synaptic Package Manager also shows that the Spanish help files are also nstalled. Distribution is a hybrid one from the Government of Andalucia (Guadalinex 4.2 beta). Most of it is Edgy, but the kernel is Feisty.

Have a look at the online documentation.

Not a lot of help there - made 23 searches using various configurations of help files install and problems and had no hits at all in any forums. Tried installing en-us and suddenly I have help (but not in Spanish, although that is the default install). This looks almost like a Mr Gates-type setup. American is not English! Thanks all the same.
