I have downloaded templates from open office how do i install them?

I have downloaded Samples and Templates-user/Templates from http://documentation.openoffice.org/Samples_Templates/User/template/index.html as tar ile now I have to install them, can you guide me. and I am using Ubuntu

Hi,

  when you open openoffice and go to tools->options->Openoffice.org->Paths->templates you can see what directories open office will look into to find templates

  typically this will include system-wide directories (available to everyone using the system) and personal directories (normally only available to 1 user)

  choose one of those directories and put the templates in there

  to open the tar you can double click on the tar files in the file explorer and you can use drag-and-drop to copy them from the tar file to your chosen directory
