openoffice fail to start

Asked by Cramler

I have recently installed the latest version of ubuntu (7.10) and all openoffice.org apps fail to start. I have tried to find the solution in other answers in at launchpad but i have no success. My problem is exactly as described in this bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/scim/+bug/80551 but the solutions does not help me. I am using the 32 bit version on a Dell Laptop D400 with Intel graphics on board.
