In OpenOffice Spreadsheet, how do I alphabetize last name and first name fields without scrambling addresses?

I have a Client data base spreadsheet in Open Office with Last Name, First Name, address, email etc...how do I alphabetize names without scrambling the address data?

Hi Kimberly

First of all, highlight all the data columns. Then do Data > Sort. You probably want to select the column with Last Name to sort first, then the column with First Name. Note that there is an Options tab. Have a look at this and check any that you need, such as if you have column headings in the first row or you want the sort to be case sensitive. Click on the Help button on the Sort window, if you need more explanation of what to do.
