LucidLynx 10.04 LTS: Howto reinstall an OpenOffice ubuntu distrib openoffice.org version 1:3.2.0-7ubuntu4.2 after a LibreOffice PPA installation ?

Asked by achevrier

Hi.
I'm trying to re-install openoffice.org version 1:3.2.0-7ubuntu4.2 on my Lucid Lynx distrib, after an installation of libreoffice via PPA, but it seems impossible. Here is the return of terminal:

sudo apt-get install --reinstall openoffice.org
...

It seems libreoffice erased all information, and it is not possible any more to return to the openoffice version delivered in standard with LucidLynx

And ... I really need to go back to the initial configuration, because of terrible bugs wich appeared with LibreOffice, that block me on a daily used professional document ... I'm a bit nervous with this ... I'm sorry ...

I've found the solution.
It's simple: just remove PPA libreoffice installed during lbreoffice PPA process
Then remove and purge libreoffice (see on libreoffice web site the all process)
Then remove and purge openoffice:
-> sudo apt-get remove openoffice.org*
-> sudo apt-get remove --purge openoffice.org-core
Then reinstall openoffice
And it's fine.
