openoffice crash

Asked by jevgtv

I have trouble with openoffice. I experiensed the same with libreoffice also.

Time to time office windows disappear and appears notification, that all opened documents will be restored. Next time I open office it tries to restore the documents.

Anybody knows how to resolve tha problem? I use Lucid 10.04. The problem exists with 10.10, 9.10 also. Office 3.1, 3.2.0, 3.2.1 (both Openoffice and libreoffice).

Openoffice & libreoffice are pretty much the same code at this time.

What you describe sounds like a crash bug - Can you re-create an exact sequence of steps that causes the crash? If so, we can look for a bug, and possible workarounds.

Thanks for the fast responce. The exact sequence is to open office and
to let it for a while without any activity. Next time you turn to the
office it may crash in several seconds.

Unfortunately, those steps don't reproduce the problem on my system. I'm going to take a shot in the dark, and suggest you disable java

go to:
tools->options->libreoffice->java

then untick "use a java runtime environment"

Can you help with this problem?
