write (straight) text in formula editor

Using OpenOffice Formula and the Formula editor within OpenOffice Writer - How can I write straight (non-italic) text?
For example, If I want to make clear that I mean the SI-unit meter and not a variable.

You can do this using quotation marks around the text

eg

"A" = A
