OpenOffice Calc-Insert columns

When attempting to insert a column, message appears "Filled cells cannot be shifted beyond the sheet"
Any ideas how to fix this?

Is there anything special or distinctive about the spreadsheet? Or anything else you can tell us about the circumstances?

i get this a lot when i'm downloading something and use calc to save the data in.

you need to save the file first, then do any editing you want.

Thanks guys! After messing around with it, discovered it was because the sheet was set to "Protected"
Have cured it now!
