Spell checker does not work with Spanish language

I downloaded the Spanish language pack with the Synaptic Package Mgr. for OpenOffice. I also added the corresponding extensions to use the Spanish dictionaries and thesaurus. The system works OK in English, but not in Spanish. Strangely enough, when I type in Spanish, I get the red underline on all the words either correct or misspelled. Will appreciate any help. Thanks.

Hi William

Have you set the language for the document? Click on the language setting in the status line at the bottom. Select More... if Spanish isn't listed.

Yes, Spanish is listed. In fact I even have Spanish (Puerto Rico) and Spanish (Spain) to choose from.

If you mean that it is the default language (shows on the status bar), yes. As I explained before, I even try to use the spelling feature manually (selecting part of the text on my document, and choosing the appropriate language) but it won't work. I get the red underlines on the words and that's it. Thanks for your interest in solving my problem.

Problem solved!
The solution was to add the Argentina dictionary on my extension. With the other dictionaries, the system didn't work.
