How to insert copied rows into a Writer table?

Asked by mlf

I've tried, and can't for the life of me figure this out. Maybe it can't be done.

I have a table and I copy, or cut, several adjacent rows. I want to paste (insert) them elsewhere into the table. When I try, it always pastes over the existing rows. I want to be able to insert the rows and thus move the existing rows down. Seems like this would be doable, but I can't find it.

Thanks in advance,

Thanks, that's what I needed. Although, I am disapointed that there's not a built-in easy way of doing that. Seems like a pretty comonly used function, at least in my neck of the woods. ;-)

Update thread?
As mlf says lots of us want to do this; marcobra's answer was in 2007: have things changed in the last 3+ years?

Hi Nic

Its not a good idea to ask further questions on issues marked as Solved.

But the answer seems to be that this functionality is not in the current version of OOo
