open office compatibility with libre office

I am about to update from 10.10 to11.04 but need to know whether my existing documents in open office 10.10 will be automatically integrated into libre office in 11.04. If not How do I upgrade to 11.04 and also retain open office 10.10 in the new 11.04 installation

Libreoffice is almost the same code as openoffice. Some defaults have changed, and a few icons here and there. Some bugfixes have been commited. You should have no problems with opening documents (with the possible exception of oobase files).

The name change is due to a change in project leadership (roughly). There is more background on wiki.
