How do you add rows to an Excel sheet where they will be active?

Asked by Caroline Pettigrew

I am creating my budget on Excel but need to add new rows. I have added a row but it is not active, in other words the computer does not continue subtracting the amounts.

you need to adjust the formula that does the automatic calculation for you. it sounds like you added a row at the very top. if you added a row in the middle of the table, the formula automatically changes to reflect the new row.

Hi Caroline

Perhaps you need to copy and paste the cells that have formulas in them from the previous line to the new line.
