how to control precision in calc's fraction number format?

Asked by madrivereric

When pasting some data into Calc, I discovered that there is fraction format for numbers. Very cool!
Unfortunately, it is presently rounding fractions off. For example, the cell contains 0.3125 which is 5/16, yet the cell displays 1/3.

Is there a way to adjust the display precision for the fraction format?

Answering my own question -- yes there is!

In the format cells menu, there is the Format code which defaulted to
# ?/?

Apparently the ? sets the number of digits in the fraction. one ? limits the denominator to 9ths. two ?'s would seem to allow 99ths and so on.
