caps lock and num lock reversed help

When I use cap lock it does not hold caps on and on certain docs it works backwards. Number lock is not working on the side number pad the light is on but no numbers. How do we correct this problem? and what triggered it ?

Hi, it sounds like you have accidentally hit a key combination that changes the key bindings.

Go to the menu System-Preferences-Keyboard...click the 'Layout' tab and then look through the list of key mappings there...you can set and change them in there.
Probably the best thing is to hit the 'reset defaults' button first.
