spread sheet issues

can we use "sql" query on this. or can we sort data on two or more columns., if yes guide me

Yes, to both.
You can sort using the Data -> Sort menú.
As for SQL, you can connect the spreadsheet to a database or use Base, which is a part of OpenOffice and LibreOffice.
OpenOffice has an excelent help system to get you started on those topics.

well if I transfer to data base I can do that but with spread sheet, can I sort on 3 columns (eg, city, gender and course selected.) If I select more than one column then sort option does not work.

You say sort on 3 columns doesn't work, but it does. You have to use the data menu as i told you. Clearly you did not read the help.
