I want to turn off the feature that prompts with completed words while I am typing.

While I am typing, every new word gets these wild-assed guesses about the word that I am trying to type. It is very distracting while I am trying to compose a document, and I want to turn it off. I do not know what it is called, but it seems like some sort of auto-text or auto-complete for each word. I want to turn this feature OFF! Please help.

It is called autocomplete, yes. You can turn it off in the options menu.

Tools->autocomplete options->word completion then untick "enable word completion"
