Openoffice writer is fullscreen, no icon to shrink

On my wife's account, not mine, Open office writer takes the full screen and there are no icons to shrink or minimize it. I haven't been able to get her out of that mode. It is probably trivial but I haven't been able to figure it out. I am not an expert on Writer -- I am old fashioned and usually use Emacs and LaTex.

Open Office opens a small bar with an icon to go back to normal when out into fullscreen. Unluckily it can be closed.
But to solve your problem: press F11!
