I am trying to print envelopes from Open Office Writer 3.2 from Ubuntu using a Hewlett Packard Laserjet 1012. It feeds the envelope but just prints blank envelopes. I have printed envelopes successfully using MS Word in the past. My Open Office prints regular letter size paper fine. Not Linux sophisticated--just GUI user. Though I have used UNIX line commands (and DOS) decades ago.

I was following documentation at

http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Documentation/OOoAuthors_User_Manual/Writer_Guide/Printing_envelopes

Everything seemed to work fine and the printer feeds the envelope fine but prints nothing.

I tried turning the envelope over with the same results. Thank you for your support and assistance.

Put a plain 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper in and print the envelope on the full sheet of paper. This way you can see how the envelope is printing. It is probably printing but it is off of the envelope. From there you can work with it. At least this is a beginning troubleshooting step that I have always done.

Can you help with this problem?
