Can we program OpenOffice Base like Ms Access?

Asked by Mark McCumber

One of the great things I like about MS Access was you could create forms to enter in your data. And using visual basic for applications you could bind queries to comboboxes to make data entry even eaiser.

Are they going to incorporate this ability into OpenOffice Base?

Really this is not an Ubuntu question, it is an OpenOffice question.

You would be better to ask the question on the OpenOffice Forum - http://www.oooforum.org/forum/index.phtml

the asnwer is yes and no. microshaft access is kaka. i don't know of anyone who would seriously use that unless they're don't know what else is out there.

base is based more on sql than ms access, but since vers 2, they made the interface imitate access.

Thanks, this answers my question.

I was using SQL Server 2000 one time and thanks to the new Framework introduced because of Microsoft's infinite you could not use the new interfaces to load the database by using forms. I thought this decreased the usefulness of the database if you couldn't have people enter the data easily.
