OK, your text is a little dense -- can you please use paragraphs to separate your ideas -- this makes it easier to read. I have extracted the points I think you want addressed:

>is any kind of books out there that i can read up on for ubuntu and linux meaning for all of the >programs that are inside of the ubuntu software center

Yes, there are. Try this for a start:
http://www.ubuntupocketguide.com/index_main.html

>also when i try to remove some of the open office progarms from the ubuntu software center i get >"waiting for other software managers to quit" what does this mean???

Only one program is allowed to modify the installed software at any given time in order to not cause problems. If one program is already running, new programs will not proceed

>also how do i cut copy paste
Select the text with the cursor (mouse hold and drag), then right click and select "copy". Alternatively, you can press Ctrl+C to copy the selected text, then Ctrl+V to paste.

>also how do i download programs??
Using the ubuntu software centre.

>how long does it take for this to happen meaning for openoffice.orgwriter2xhtml to be >configured???
Maybe 10 minutes at the very longest -- this will depend upon your hardware.

Finally, please be patient when posting questions, your question was posted three times, so it is hard for people to not try to answer them separately
