Why is Open Office 3.2 taking so long to load a file?

Have just installed Ubuntu 10.10 64-bit edition of my Dell Inspiron (4G memory etc) and OpenOffice 3.2 is taking 20+ seconds to retrieve files, which is like being back in the Dark Ages. My daughter is having the same problem with Mint 10. No problems with other software, which works very fast indeed. Anyone having the same problem?

Try assigning more ram / cpu

upgrade to version 3.2.1. it solves the drag in opening and saving files.
