even the ends of columns on a page

Asked by Stephen Barr

I have an index of several pages with three columns on each page. On the last page there are two whole columns with the third only about an inch long. How do I even out the columns so that they have the same length on that last page?

what's wrong with having an uneven last column?

anyhoo, i doubt there's an automatic way of balancing the columns in OOo and it'll look weird if the last page has shorter columns than the other 2. if you MUST have them balanced, you'll have to fiddle with the page borders until the columns are even. it's a lot of work.

Can you help with this problem?
