activate Russian font in Open Office Writer

Asked by Leon Levendis

I have tried to activate Russian font in Open Office Writer.
I followed instructions in Tools>options>languages>Russian, checked and rechecked everything, the bottom panel in OO Writer
says "Russian" but the keyboard is still active in English.
I presume that Russian font is installed otherwise it would not be mentioned in the options.
Win XP had a selector for installed languages in the taskbar.
Wonder if I have missed something, grateful for any help.

Hi Leon

I guess you have to set your keyboard up with System > Preferences > Keyboard/Keyboard Input Methods.
