OOo always attempts to recover database that no long exists

Asked by Joe

I am running OOo 3.2.1 on Ubuntu 10.04.1 with all updates. I had a database named "Blood Sugars Sliderule.odb" that somehow got corrupted. OOo failed to recovery the database, so I started with a backup copy and renamed the copy "Blood Sugars". I removed the OOo registry entry for "Blood Sugars Sliderule.odb". However, every time I open any database, OOo attempts and fails to recover the database "Blood Sugars Sliderule.odb". What can I do to eliminate the recovery attemp?

if you run:

cd ~; ls -a

you will see the hidden folders, one or maybe two will be named openoffice, if you rename them and rerun openoffice, you will get vanilla settings and all will be forgotten. If you are happy with the result, you can THEN delete the folders you renamed.
