Can't print spreadsheet - instead printer spits out a bar of background color

I am a newbie. 39 years ago I was an "expert" on spreadsheets. Unfortunately, it's all gone.

I have a rudimentary 30 row by 15 column sheet, partially filled out. I did successfully print an early version. Then I began pushing buttons. One area I reached was to set a background color. I chose red.
Now when I attempt to print the spreadsheet, all I get is a nearly blank page with a 3/8" hi by 2.0" long red bar in top left of page. The page is titled "Sheet1" at top and has "Page 1" at bottom (both are centered). Same thing appears when I preview sheet.

By the way, the background color never appeared? I don;t want it anyway. Just playing.

Hi,
Wow, did we have spreadsheets 39 years ago? I did not know that. I started with symphony, but that was almost 20 years ago, back in 1988. And i remember we had music-cassettes (tapes) where we put data on, that was a bit longer ago, and it took a lot of time to read your data into the computer...
However, when you started to began pushing buttons, i hope you did not screw up that much.
For start, you should select your print range.
Select the range you want to print with the mouse, select upper-left cell, hold down your left mouse-key, and drag to the lower left-cell. Now, whith the area selected, goto: format > print-range > define.

to delete your background-color, does> {ctrl+shift+space-bar} help (push 3 buttons all at once).
if so? Good! if not? goto:
format > styles and formating > richtclick on "Default" and choose modify. then goto "Background" and select: "No Fill"
