Hi Shasti

Can you give us some more details about how your spreadsheet is laid out in rows and columns.

What kind of document are you opening in OpenOffice.org? Is it an MS Office .xls or an OpenOffice.org .ods file?

Please also tell us what version of Ubuntu and OpenOffice.org you are using.

Hi Tony,

I am using Openoffice 3.2 in Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid. The file is in xls only and not ods file.

For example, we have 100 rows and 25 columns in that we are selecting autofilter by column header in that we are selecting particular 4 or 5 rows with addition calculation like subtotal(9,A1:A100) but it should show in the 101st row with the particular 4 or 5 rows total. Second time I am changing the rows with different row number and also it show the subtotal in the 101st row. In this case it is hiding the last row because of that we cannot see the result. This is the problem. You can cross check with MS Excel in the same

Hi Shasti

I don't have MS Excel so I cannot comment on the functionality there, but I do agree that the functionality you describe is not there in OOo.

I would suggest that you look a the Data Pilot feature. This gives you summaries of filtered data.

Hi Tony,

I checked and I think the Data Pilot feature is nothing but Pivot table and this feature we want so many collaborated item data we can get through the Data Pilot. But this subtotal is a simple addition formula that will show in the what are the selected rows that will show you the total. Any way thanks for your kind efforts.

Shasti.
