Delete Horizontal Line

Asked by Stead

I added a horizontal line through the menus (Insert -->Horizontal Ruler.
However, I can't get rid of the horizontal line now. It doesn't seem that I'm able to select it. The OO help file shows how to create another, but not delete. I've tried using the drawing tools, but it looks like they draw a different type of line that I'm able select later and delete as needed.

Thanks!

The Horizonal Ruler is a style (part of the HTML styles), similar to Heading 1. Therefore, you can erase in the same way you erase a Heading.

a. Use the keyboard to navigate around the ruler. You will notice that when the cursor is just above the horizontal ruler, the current style (it is shown on the left of the font name, on the Format toolbar) changes to Horizontal Line.
b. You can change the style from Horizontal Line to Default and the ruler is gone.
c. You can press Delete a few times and the ruler is gone.

Hope this helps.

With OOo 2.3 and 2.4 the current style was "Default" with the cursor just above the horizontal line. To erase the horizontal line change the style to "none". You may have to scroll up.

Haven't tested this on OOo3 yet.
