Hi Larry

It would seem that somehow you have made this document your Default template.

Possibly, you changed the path that OOo looks in for templates, and this is the only document in that location. Document paths are in Tools > Options... > OpenOffice.org > Paths. Just check that out first.

Then go to File > Templates > Organise... In the left pane, you should see a list of template folders. One should be called 'My Templates'. Double click it to show the list of templates. One should be called 'Standard'. Right click it and select 'Edit'.

Is it a blank document or the document you don't want?

If it is the latter, you have overwritten the default template with your document.

If it is blank, then all you should need to do, is to close it, then right click again and select 'Set as Default template'. (You might have to open a text document first and go back through File > Templates > Organise... > etc, to get to it.)

If it looks like you have overwritten your default blank document, let me know and I will give you some more instructions.

Tony

Hi Larry

Before you do any of the above, try File > Templates > Organise... and in the left pane, right click anywhere and select 'Reset Default Template' and choose 'Text Document'. If you do not see this option, select any file, right click it and 'Set as Default template' first.
