Howto create a table of contents

Hello. When I'd like to create a TOC i.e. a table-of-contents in an OOo Writer Document, how to do it?

In the menu "Insert" choose "Indexes and Tables" an then "Indexes and Tables...". In the window you're seeing, select the type of the index: "Table of Contents".

I have a 5-level outline but just want to include level 1 in the table of contents. How do I do that?

Right-click on your Table of Contents and then set the "Evaluate up to level" to your desired level.
