openjdk-9 updates for xenial

openjdk-8 receives updates through the xenial-updates package repo. Now that Java 9 is officially released will openjdk9 be similarly updated through xenial-updates?

I suggest you report a bug. If the security and bug fixes are significant then it will be updated. Ubuntu isn't a rolling release and packages are not updated in the repositories just because a new version is released. They very often don't (especially in the LTS releases) because Ubuntu champions stability over new packages. Applications and libraries with bigger issues will be attended primarily and very often packages are neglected.
