How can I install older versions of openjdk-8-jdk-headless ?

Asked by Mohsen Sarmadi

Hi

is there a repository I can use to install older patch versions of openjdk-8-jdk-headless?

For example this one
openjdk-8-jre-headless/now 8u282-b08-0ubuntu1~18.04 amd64 [installed,upgradable to: 8u292-b10-0ubuntu1~18.04]

the latest version of package has created an issue with the apache POI library which we think is related to one of these changes
    - JDK-8227467: Better class method invocations
    - JDK-8244543: Enhanced handling of abstract classes

Thanks
Mohsen

If you really want to go back to an older version, you can proceed as follows:

Look at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openjdk-8/+publishinghistory
and pick a version for your Ubuntu release and manually download and install the related packages.

You have to be aware that you are reverting to a version with bugs!

Can you help with this problem?
