What is the timeframe for an openjdk-8 package?

I haven't been able to find a discussion on this anywhere. If there is a more suitable place for this discussion please let me know.

Otherwise, what are the blockers for this? I would be happy to help out in any way if I can.

If you report a bug it may get the package updated / added. Webupd8 has a PPA for Oracle Java which may help.
