EA version on Jammy

Asked by Matyáš Koc

Hello,

It seems that on Jammy, EA version is still installed although there is a GA already.
Is it possible to get it updated?

Thank you

Bernard Stafford suggests this article as an answer to your question:
FAQ #3037: “no rolling release”.
https://packages.ubuntu.com/jammy/openjdk-18-jdk
The package that you have is the current release.
Ubuntu is a derivative of Debian.
Ubuntu only updates their packaging after Debian to avoid duplicate packaging.

When you look at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openjdk-18 you can see that currently there is work done on openjdk-18 for Ubuntu kinetic, still with some failures.

I assume that whenever the problems with the new release have been solved on kinetic, there will be a similar update for jammy to cater for the CVE vulnerabilities in jammy's version.

Can you help with this problem?
