Backporting focal version to bionic

Asked by Mohamed Hafez

The version of opendkim in focal includes an important security improvement: compiling with the debian hardening flags. Any chance we could get that backported to bionic? DKIM is pretty necessary to send email securely these days, and especially considering that the opendkim project doesn't seem to be being actively developed, it would be great to get extra hardening built in in case there are vulnerabilities yet to be discovered.

I suggest you report a bug and state the issues that the new version resolves. This will get the package updated sooner rather than later. Ubuntu is not a rolling release distribution so packages can be left in favour of stability. This is especially true in the LTS releases.

Can you help with this problem?
