Hi!
I recently upgraded to Ubuntu Server Xenial (from Wily), and it seems the upgrade has broken the opendkim filter part of my mail server. Since the upgrade, I have seen the above message in my mail log whenever an email with a DKIM signature was received by Postfix.
I have been digging around a bit, and found that the issue can be overcome by commenting out the ResolverConfigu
Although things apparently work well now, the above history has left me a bit puzzled:
1. Am I correct in thinking that the opendkim package comes with a built-in/default dns resolver (judging by the package's dependencies: libunbound2)? If so, what determines if this resolver or another one is used? Is this determined at compile time? My guess is that the opendkim package is configured to use the built-in dns resolver, unless I specify a Nameservers parameter. Is that correct?
2. In case the system's designated dns resolver (in /etc/resolv.conf) is unbound (dnsssec enabled), is there any point in trying to have opendkim use this resolver, instead of the built-in one, using the Nameservers parameter?
Best regards,
Alexander
