No thumbnails in Nautilus

Asked by Phil-ganchev

The Launchpad page for ooo-thumbnailer says: "Install it and restart Nautilus to see the effects." I installed it on Ubuntu 9.10 (Karmic) and restarted Nautilus, but there is no thumbnail preview in any zoom level in any type view. That's not surprising, because the package does not include anything for Nautilus integration. The program itself works fine when I use it on the command line, but how do I make Nautilus run it automatically and show the thumbnails in place of the usual icons? My Nautilus preferences are set to preview all files smaller than 10Mb and the files are 10Kb.

Apologies, the package does include the mime schema /usr/share/gconf/schemas/ooo-thumbnailer.schemas , and Nautilus does use it for ODT thumbnails. My issue was that I was looking at ODG files, which the mime schema does not register. I see newer versions of the package do.
