not functional real and virtual keyboard

Asked by fab

Hello,

On my nettop with ubuntu 10/10, as I was unable to find onboard I install it on November the 6th 2013. Then I go through some configurations to make it appears in the menu...
Purpose is that some useful keys such as alt gr and ctrl are out of use.

The issue is that since, neither the virtual keyboard neither the real keyboard are functionnal. Typing could make the screen flashing after a configuration but nothing else.
I am unable to desactivate completely onboard and use again the real keyboard.

Notice that for the login screen the real keyboard is still available.

So my first question is how can I completely disable onboard and use again the real keyboard ?
Later on I still hope to be able to use onboard.
Can you confirm, that we can type some characters and the real keyboard and some other with the onboard one to complete ? That's the usage I am looking for.

Thanks,

If you press CTRL + ALT + F1 at the login page you should be able to run it there

Thanks for your reply.

The CTRL keys of the keyboard is out that is one of the issue. Maybe it works at 1% so I will try this evening.
I have no USB keyboard but could it be recognized on the logging page ?
If yes it could be worth that I get one as I am afraid of no success with the CTRL key.
I'll try this evening when back from work.

Maverick is EOL and no longer supported in any way by Canonical or the Ubuntu community. It is EOL.

I suggest you wipe Maverick off and perform a clean install of Precise which is LTS and supported til APril 2017

I know it is no more supported. Maybe I will change this version in the future but actually I need to use this PC for its content so to recover the real keyboard.
I pointed in my 1st message that I was on a 10.10.

So please help me at least to desinstall onboard to recover the keyboard. Then later on I could do the update in a more confortable situation.

Thanks.
